Forum Rules & Guidelines
We do have a few rules here . This is to protect us, as an online forum and website, and you as members. They are unfortunately necessary but we feel that we need them. This page also explains how we value your privacy and how the site uses cookies
Forum rules
You agree to use The Forum only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of, restrict or inhibit anyone else's use and enjoyment of the Biker Forum. Prohibited behaviour includes harassing or causing distress or inconvenience to any person, transmitting obscene or offensive content or disrupting the normal flow of dialogue within the Biker Forum.
By posting on the Biker Forum (including any text, photographs, graphics, video or audio), you agree to grant to the Biker Forum, free of charge, permission to use the material in any way it chooses - including modifying and adapting it.
Copyright in your contribution will remain with you and this permission is not exclusive, so you can continue to use the material in any way including allowing others to use it.
In order to post on the Biker Forum, you confirm that your contribution is your own original work, is not defamatory and does not infringe any UK laws, that you have the right to give the Biker Forum permission to use it for the purposes specified above, and that you have the consent of anyone who is identifiable in your contribution or the consent of their parent / guardian if they are under 16. If you copy and paste any article or part of an article from any other publication, you must also post credit to the original author.
If you do not want to grant the Biker Forum the permission set out above on these terms, please do not submit or share your contribution to/or with the Forum.
All contributions must be civil and tasteful - guidelines below:
No unlawful or objectionable content:
I.e. unlawful, harassing, defamatory, abusive, threatening, harmful, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, racially offensive or otherwise objectionable material is unacceptable.
If it isn't safe to view at work, then it isn't safe to post here either. You will face a possible ban for that. The Forum Administrators and Moderators will decide what is acceptable or not. If it is borderline, you will get a warning, if it is blatant, you will not.
No disruptive, offensive or abusive behaviour:
ALL contributions must be constructive and polite, not mean-spirited or contributed with the intention of causing trouble. If you have to sink that low, then the forum doesn't want you and you probably don't belong here anyway.
Threatening another forum member will not only get you banned, your details, inclusive of email address and IP will be distributed to as many other forum Administrators and Webmasters as possible.
No spamming or off-topic material:
We don't allow the submission of the same or very similar contributions many times. Please don't re-submit your contribution to more than one discussion, or contribute off-topic material in subject-specific areas.
No free advertising or promoting:
We do not accept any type of advertising without prior permission of the site owner (Spree). Types of advertising include charitable events, rallies, products and businesses. Neither do we accept promotion of other sites and forums in signatures without approval from the Admin team. We have worked hard for a number of years on this site to get it where it is in the rankings and we expect other sites to do the same.
No impersonation:
We don't allow users to knowingly impersonate another member, or fraudulently impersonate users to gain access to the site.
No inappropriate (e.g. vulgar, offensive etc) user names: This is self explanatory!
Think about what you are posting!:
When you post here your words are visible to the general public, including minors and will eventually be grabbed and stored by search engines, sometimes within minutes. That means your contribution will achieve immortality whether you want it or not.
Anyone attending a Ride Out or Event organised through the Biker Forum does so at their own risk. The Biker Forum or anyone organising an event posted here will not be held liable in any way shape or form for motoring offences, damage, accidents or personal injury.
Friendly advice
Always remember that what you post can be seen by anyone. Your words can come back to haunt you in a hearing or legal procedure, and we do not delete posts unnecessarily. If you're not sure whether a post is going to be valid, ask yourself if you would have any concern over your post being handed to a legal firm or read back to you in a court hearing.
Although we do not and cannot review all of the messages posted and are not responsible for the content of any of these messages, we reserve the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread or message for any or no reason whatsoever. All messages express the views of the respective author, and neither the owners and Administration staff of the Biker Forum will be held responsible for the content of any message. You as a member remain solely responsible for the content of your messages.
Friendly warning
Whatever you post can also put the site at risk of inclusion in legal proceedings as evidence or worse, which involves money and time for the site owners and runs the risk of shutting down the Biker Forum...either temporarily or for good. That could put us in a position to have to remove you from the site until the mess is untangled, or permanently, regardless of your position, contributions to the forums and length of membership.
If you feel there's something amiss, contact a Mod. The Moderators are here to do just that - moderate. They try their best to enforce the rules. They might even step in and attempt to break up a fight. That usually ends up in the said moderator getting a torrent of abuse, but they do try hard to keep the forum running smoothly.
We don't always see every thread and every post, so if you see a violation of the rules, click the 'report post' link in the header of the offending post. You might get ignored, but someone will at least look into it.
Private messages are Private. That's why they're given the really nifty title of 'Private Messages'. If you've got a problem with a PM, contact a mod.
Any moderator's decision is final. I you think you have been treated heavy handed then bring this to the attention of a site Admin. But be warned - it is extremely unlikely that a moderator's decision will be overturned.
If you fail to abide by these Rules when taking part in the Biker Forum, you will be sent an email which informs you why your contribution has been deleted, removed or edited. This email will also include a warning that continuing to break the rules may result in action being taken against your membership.
This action may include any content posted by you being checked temporarily before allowed to be published on the site, or a temporary or permanent suspension of your ability to participate in any or all of the Biker Forum sections.
Privacy Policy
Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used.
How we use 'Cookies'
A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer's hard drive. Once you agree, the file is added and the cookie helps analyse web traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular site. Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual. The web application can tailor its operations to your needs, likes and dislikes by gathering and remembering information about your preferences.
We use traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used. This helps us analyse data about web page traffic and improve our website in order to tailor it to customer needs. We only use this information for statistical analysis purposes and then the data is removed from the system. Overall, cookies help us provide you with a better website, by enabling us to monitor which pages you find useful and which you do not. A cookie in no way gives us access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with us.
This website does not store any information that would, on its own, allow us to identify individual users of this service without their permission. Any cookies that may be used by this website are used either solely on a per session basis or to maintain user preferences. Cookies are not shared with any third parties.
You can choose to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. This may prevent you from taking full advantage of the website.
Log files are maintained and analysed of all requests for files on this website's web servers. Log files do not capture personal information but do capture the user's IP address, which is automatically recognised by our web servers.
External Sites
The Biker Forum is not responsible for the content of external internet sites. You are advised to read the privacy policy of external sites before disclosing any personal information.
These rules and guidelines are NOT final and may be added to or altered at any time
By signing up as a member of the Biker Forum, you are agreeing to these rules, you also warrant that you will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar, sexually-oriented, hateful, threatening, or otherwise in violation of any laws.
If you don't like or agree to these rules and guidelines - thanks for stopping by and we wish you all the best for the future. It is impossible to please all people all of the time and doing so would effectively ruin the atmosphere and friendliness of the Biker Forum
So come on in, put your feet up, make yourself at home .
